ELIZABETH BROWNE-HOMENICK - VOCALS

I am trained in classical piano and opera. By the time I was in high school, I stopped playing the piano except when practicing arias. Throughout high school, I sang in national competitions and won a few awards. As I was preparing to audition for music schools, I decided that I did not want to perform as a profession but just for the love of it. For my first few years at Marist College, I didn’t sing a note except for in the shower. One evening while I was out with my friends for a night of drunken debauchery, my friends pushed me up on stage with the band to sing a song. That night, in my stupor, I agreed to be the front woman of The Hittmen. This was a very risky move as I had never sung anything but show tunes and opera. After a few years, I left The Hittmen to join a rock band, Bunkmunkies. Sean Farrell was the guitar player in Bunkmunkies. I met Jay Stein & Rich Benson when Sean dragged me down to Ultrasound Studios in NYC to sing a few songs. Plain Jane was formed less than one year later and we have been together ever since!
